i was doing user@host and realized after a few days it just copied files into ./user@host direcotry not rsync user@host

Hello.
There are at least 3 ways to do remote sync with grsync/rsync.
One is to use your environment (gnome, kde...) virtual filesystem (or any other virtual filesystem for that matter): in this case just browse to the remote location as you usually do with the native file manager.
Another way is to use rsync own remote protocol, and finally you can use rsync over ssh.
