That sounds right for me. Deals with patronymics and provides an universal solution for the grouping problem, if I understood it correctly. Not what I had in mind, but you can get a lot of mileage out of that. The rest of the points I made have more to do with the smart selection of candidates in the database to fill specific roles, finding candidates for merging, etc. Nice to have, but not so critical, in my opinion.
