The db4.2 should be fine, but apparently there are bugs in
that library in FreeBSD.

That I don't know. If you decide to report this issue,
please ask maintainer to feel free to contact us to pinpoint
the problem. We can try producing the minimal testcase
that does not involve any gramps code.
