I just barely installed GRAMPS on Mac OS X (10.4.9, Intel) using Fink. On the first run, I was prompted to enter my personal information an preferences, but I got nothing out of X11 after clicking "Apply." On subsequent runs I got a window with the following message, asking me to email it to you. I'm a fink/source code compiling newbie, but I'm relatively comfortable with the command line. Any help would be appreciated. This is the only free, feature rich genealogy software I've been able to find for Mac OS X.
