We have released the release candidate for GRAMPS 1.0 (named GRAMPS 0.99). The purpose of this release is to shake out any minor bugs that we haven't yet found. We expect the 1.0 release to follow within a week or so. Please try this release and help us track down any remaining bugs. The release can be downloaded at http://sf.net/projects/gramps A source tarball and RPM packages for both RedHat/Fedora and Mandrake are available for download. Debian packages should be available shortly. This release adds a dependency on gnome-python2-gnomevfs. To resolve dependencies for Mandrake, see instructions at http://gramps.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/SystemRequirements The package sizes have increased due to added manual translations. GRAMPS 0.99 * Added Norwegian translation (Frode Jemtland). * New filter and custom filter rule based on the personal completeness flag. * Improved GEDCOM support. * Support for EasyTree flavor of GEDCOM. * Phone field in Addresses and Places. * New "Add from database..." button in gallery tabs. * Format of the Notes can be set to Flowed or Preformatted. * Reports can be opened with the appropriate application right after they have been generated. * Interface improvements. * Anchor can be set in Pedigree View -- in that case generations are labeled relative to that anchor. * Manual is translated into French (Michel Guitel), German (Sebastian Vöcking), Hungarian (Egyeki Gergely), and Russian (Alex Roitman) languages. * Relationship calculators for German (Dr. Martin Senftleben) and Hungarian (Egyeki Gergely) languages. * Improved AncestorChart is capable for compressing the output (getting rid of the empty space) and scaling the contents to a single page. * Numerous bugfixes. -- Don Allingham <dal...@us...> GRAMPS - Open Source Genealogy |
