Hi all, I took the liberty of adding HTML version of new gramps-manual (still in progress) into the CVS. I think that an html version would assist in reading and proofing the manual. Anyone with the time and desire to proof what's available so far, please go ahead and do it. Beware that the current html formatting does not reflect all the tags. For instance, the <guilabel> and <guibutton> tags don't seem to produce visible effects, apparently due to the lack of the correct style sheet. Still, to me, reading an imperfect HTML is an easier experience that looking at the raw XML file. Also, the only figure currently dispayed in HTML is outdated. Ignore this fact. The manual currently refers to some (easily identifiable) filenames for the images. It just so happenned that one of them coincided with the image available from an old manual. Whenever the new screenshots are generated, the images in the manual will be updated automatically. To summarize it for the interested parties: read doc/gramps-manual/C/gramps.html in your browser, then either email me your corrections in plain text, or modify doc/gramps-manual/C/gramps.xml and commit the changes yourself. Alex P.S. If you modify gramps.xml and would like to generate an updated HTML version, you can do it by saying $ jw -u gramps.xml provided you have docbook-utils installed. -- Alexander Roitman http://ebner.neuroscience.umn.edu/people/alex.html Dept. of Neuroscience, Lions Research Building 2001 6th Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455 Tel (612) 626-7280 FAX (612) 626-9201 |
