About a week ago, we announced that the GRAMPS project was accepting donations at Sourceforge to be used to fund a bounty program to encourage the development of new features. Since then, GRAMPS has received several donations. That means that it is time to start making proposals for bounty projects. We intend this to be user driven, so we are looking to the users for suggestions. Ideally, these should be self-contained tasks that aren't tied to the core of GRAMPS. This would include things such as import and export filters, reports, document formats, and similar tasks. Something like "integrate a full database backend" is a bit more work than what we would expect the bounty program to handle (and don't worry, the core development team will take care of this one). Some possible ideas, just to get things rolling, would include: 1) GEDCOM 6.0 import/export 2) GNOME Print integration to provide direct printing and print preview 3) New or enhanced reports 4) Graphical report formats for RTF and/or KWord 5) Enhanced font handling Don |
