Most of the new work is on the 0.9.x series (GNOME 2.0). If you are familiar with Java and Perl, python should be a breeze. Think of python as a version of perl that you can read a week later :-) Several things that need work are: * New reports. GRAMPS has a pretty good infrastructure for the development of reports. I hope to have it documented over the next week or so. * Integration of gnome-print, so that reports can be printed directly to the printer. * Conversion of the ANSEL/Unicode translations algorithms from python to C. * Import and export of GEDCOM 6.0. * Improvements in the postscript output (including unicode support). * Support for gnome-db, allowing alternate database backends to be used (such as MySQL) * Anything else you can think of.
