A bug has been reported against the 0.4.0 release that is nasty enough that I'm going to release a bug fix release in a day or two. Until then, here is a description of the problem, how to avoid it, and how to fix it. In the Family View, if a spouse is added to the active person, and the active person is a male, then a family is created with the Father/Mother roles reversed. This is usually not visible until a child is added, but the problem exists regardless of children being added to the family. Work-around without a patch: Only add a spouse if the active person is a female. How to check and fix your database: Run the "Check Integrity" tool. It will repair the problem. Patch: If you downloaded the source, gunzip the attached file into the gramps-0.4.0/src directory, re-run "make" and "make install". If you downloaded the RPM, copy the file into /usr/share/gramps -- Don Allingham dal...@us... GPG/PGP Public Key at http://members.home.net/donaldallingham/dallingham.key |
