The problem is not Ubuntu specific; I am running Fedora 20. The reason for this happening is explained in a post by BennyP on Bug 7331. I applied the fix given on 7570 to rule.glade, noting that the line numbers differ between the filter_dialogues.patch, the 7570_master_gui.patch to rule.glade, and the rule.glade on my system. It fixed the reduced size issues but I now have a height of dialogue box that I cannot reduce beyond a certain height that is greater than I need it to be to see everything. If I try to drag the corner to reduce the size, it only resizes in a horizontal direction. Any idea what is causing this?
