I'm using birth dates and appearance of old photographs to estimate when they were taken. For example, an individual born 1876 and a photograph in which he appears between 30 and 40 years old - I estimate the date of the photo as between 1906 and 1916. The Date is entered as "estimated between 1906 and 1916". However, the Age given in PhotoTagging is "between 19 and 50". Or another, born in 1947 in which the person appears in her 20s - I estimate the date of the photo to be between 1967 and 1977. The Date is entered as "estimated between 1967 and 1977". However, the Age in PhotoTagging is given as "between 9 and 40". I see that changing "date about range" in Preferences=> Dates to, say, 1 year gives more sensible results for "estimated between X and Y" but then it's far too restrictive when one wants to be able to say "X was about 1740", meaning it could have been 1730, 1740, 1750.
