Or am I missing something much simpler. > The person who wrote that report probably did not include the date field in the output. So it would be an omission. Please do a feature request on the bug tracker, as log date seems also to me important to add. The change to have this is easy I think, look where gramps is installed, and go to the file plugins/textreport/DetDescendantReport.py Go to line 158 which is: self.bibli = Bibliography(Bibliography.MODE_PAGE) and change that line to (you might need to be root to change it depending on where gramps is installed): self.bibli = Bibliography(Bibliography.MODE_DATE|Bibliography.MODE_PAGE) Next in src/ReportBase/_Endnotes.py (upcoming version 3.3:gen/plug/report/endnotes.py) it is needed to write the date out. On line 131 you see for key, ref in ref_list: txt = "%s: %s" % (key, ref.get_page()) This should change in something like: for key, ref in ref_list: datepresent = False date = ref.get_date_object() if date is not None and not date.is_empty(): datepresent = True if datepresent: if ref.get_page(): txt = "%s: %s - %s" % (key, ref.get_page(), str(date)) else: txt = "%s: %s" % (key, str(date)) else: txt = "%s: %s" % (key, ref.get_page()) Save the file, and restart Gramps. That should do the trick. Let us know if the formatting then is what you would expect/like. If problems, just add my code to the bug ticket for a developer to go over it.
