Nonsense. I've been watching some of the new initiatives with a keen eye. I think you may be right that there are commercial interests and control at stake in these battles. But there is also an opportunity for Gramps to gain even more friends. For example, the BetterGEDCOM and OpenGen projects both aim at producing something like Gramps XML. I think that after their hard work, they may realize that few (if any companies) are interested in embracing a standard that lets them switch from their commercial/proprietary systems even easier. It may well be that they come up with an XML that is even better than Gramps XML. I will be checking in seeing if there is interest in supporting whatever comes from these initiatives. At that point, Gramps will shine even brighter. -Doug > lcc > > On 12/20/10, jerome <rom...@ya...> wrote: >> Lcc, >> >> Are you saying "Status quo", do not try to innovate ? >> Are you saying that there is no problem with current genealogical programs ? >> >> I am maybe still too active to censor myself!!! >> >> The goal is to help user: to properly store, share, keep safe data.
