Gnome does not It does, but the default is to not overlap; Somehow, Gramps overrides the defaults. Either that, or KDE ignores Gramps. I've not set anything up to affect the way Gramps windows are placed on the screen. As I /think/ I said, in v2* of Gramps, windows were placed in the least cluttered part of the screen, but this is not the case any more.
