I have many very large, high-resolution images ready for inclusion in my gramps database. I've just started using NarrativeWeb and noticed that the image display page shows the image at full resolution. This makes the site slow and inconvenient (even on a local web server). I've modified NarrativeWeb to put a scaled-down image on the page, with a link to the full size one. This is similar to the way Gallery works (http://codex.gallery2.org/). I'm attaching the a patch diff listing for the modified file. The base is gramps 2.2.8, NarrativeWeb.py 8493 2007-05-18 18:38:07Z pez4brian (An improvement would be to do the scaling only if the original is larger.) BTW, I notice that NarrativeWeb in 3.1.1 tells the browser to scale the image to a convenient size, but (if I read the code correctly) it's still the full-size image that gets downloaded, so this won't improve the site's responsiveness. -- Jeff |
