I have been trying to install gramps (2.2.10) using MacPorts because fink has not been updated to support the pango/cairo attributes. Unfortunately, gramps crashes with a protection failure. This seems to be as soon as ViewManager calls self.window.realize() to draw the first window. The crash seems to be in freetype when trying to access a font (but I don't know which font). I have reported the fault on http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/14750 http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/14750 , which shows all the details. (1) Has anyone succeeded in getting a recent version of gramps to run with a recent version of MacPorts? (2) How is the font to be used chosen during the drawing of the first window? (3) I have tried running under gdb, but I don't know how to include the symbols for the relevant modules in the build so as to be able to display all the data about the failure. Can anyone help? I appreciate that this may be related to MacPorts, but it is difficult to isolate the problem, so I think I need to do more investigation under gramps. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/gramps-crashes-on-Mac-OS-X-tp16288247p16288247.html Sent from the GRAMPS - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
