A better solution would be to have the users: 1. Grab the gramps srpm from the development branch (A). 2. Install the rpmdevtools package, which is in the Fedora repos. 3. Run 'rpmdev-setuptree', which will create the 'rpmbuild/' tree in the users home directory, instead of using 'usr/src/redhat' 4. Then the user should simply need to run 'rpmbuild --rebuild foo.src.rpm'. This assumes the user has all the necessary BuildRequirements(B). 5. To install this resultant rpm, the user should be able to just run: su -c 'yum localinstall ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/noarch/foo.noarch.rpm' A. http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/developme= nt/SRPMS/gramps-2.2.4-3.fc7.src.rpm B. In addition to the normal build tools, these additional packages are needed to build the rpm: desktop-file-utils, gettext, perl-XML-Parser, gnome-python2-canvas, gnome-python2-gconf, gnome-vfs2-devel, pygtk2-libglade, python-devel, scrollkeeper, and gnome-doc-utils Later, /B --=20 Brian Pepple <bp...@fe...> gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 810CC15E BD5E 6F9E 8688 E668 8F5B CBDE 326A E936 810C C15E |
