Hi, Alex does not tell the users what the thread was about on devel list. Following recent mails, important speedups have been realized in the development version of GRAMPS, 2.2.5-SVN. I have put up a dedicated page on the wiki: http://developers.gramps-project.org/tiki-index.php?page=GrampsPerformance Where you can see tests with gramps on large dataset, and where you can post your own results. Right now, only result with development version (2.2.5-SVN) is shown. Doug, perhaps you can add the results for 2.2.4 for comparison reasons, and also the exact SVNnumber. There is only one problem, the large dataset the developers test with is private and cannot be made available. If you have a large dataset, you can do your own tests and add them for reference. We will try to construct a 100.000+ dataset which is non-private and can be used by all to compare GRAMPS on different hardware and against commercial software (which most developers do not have). Don is doing efforts to improve the call up of the editdialog on these large datasets. Performance improvements benefit all users. Please inform us with problems on specific views.
