I think part of the reason for people (including me) to expect 'linked'
behaviour is because the view button for 'family list' is directly after
'person' and 'relationships' and before 'pedigree' - all of those views
are linked to the current active person. I looked at this before in my
enhancement request for the appearance of those icons:
