Thank you Benny for your help but is it possible to automatically apply the
ID you want (in my case sosa number) to more than 1.000 people, and not
manually ?
Ole
I do not ask you to guess, I ask the group help ;o)
My questions are clear enough. It concern Sosa number, that's it, not 'Home
person' or other stuff you'd like to teach !
And guess what ... sun is shining !
About Sosa, they always appear in the same field in Gedcom export and any
genealogical tool deal with it.
I'm used to deal with Sosa and want to carry on.
1- So is it possible to deal with gedcom import and sosa numbers wich are
imported ?
2- How can I automatically set up sosa numerotation ?
Bonne journee

Is SOSA a tag in your Gedcom file, or does this sosa number
appear in some other tag? At least I managed to find some
information about this numbering method:

My guess is you are referring to the Gramps ID field. I
believe you could edit it and put some other unique value
there, like 'me', 'dad', 'mom' etc. Whatever suits your
needs. I think it is initially populated with the values
that the exporting application put as INDI value in the
Gedcom file.
In the People view you can set a 'Home' person (probably
yourself) via Edit menu, then you can always go to the
'Pedigree' view and press Alt-Home if you =ABfeel lost=BB.
If you support us with a little more information we would
not have to guess. Maybe also what functionality you are
missing.
