This scheme has a lot of nice benefits. The same scheme should be able
to be adapted to gramps-tk as well - all it would take would be to
return whatever type of container object that the target toolkit
desires. In fact, it should make it easier to port to other toolkits -
less heavy interaction between modules. The signalling mechanism is not
gtk specific.
