Hello to all the team,
I posted an issue about Go-Contact-Sync version 4.1.27, but I seem to have put it in the wrong "Support Request" category.
That's why I'm reposting my problem in the "Bug" category.
So regarding the "Go Contact Sync Mod" software, I was using version 4.1.25 which had no issues.
Today I installed the latest version (4.1.27) and following this update my Outlook calendar and appointments do not synchronize in Google.
Are you aware of this issue?
Thank you for your feedback and your help.
Good day to you all.
Best regards
Francois-02
I am having issues with seamless sync since a few versions ago. Now it does not even get to connect.
Now I get :
Warning | Cannot connect to Google, please check for available internet connection and proxy settings if applicable: Error Loading Google Contacts. Cannot connect to Google.
Please ensure you are connected to the internet. If you are behind a proxy, change your proxy configuration!
Error accessing feed
I am connected to internet, do not use a proxy, etc...

Hello,
I deleted the version 4.1.27 and I reinstalled the version 4.1.25 and with this version I no longer have any problem, my appointments from Outlook 2019 are updating in Google.
Regards.
I tested it on my side and the sync is working. Can it be, that you overlooked the new checkbox "only sync when idle"? see attached screenshot? This feature checks the Windows activity and only triggers the sync, if the PC is idle, not to block any ongoing Outlook activities by the auto sync. You can uncheck this box to force the regular sync, otherwise you just need to leave the PC alone, without Hibernating, and it will start the sync 5 minutes after sync interval + idle time

unchecked that and still have the same issue, sometimes while matching Outlook and Google other times in the middle of contacts sync after thousands of contacts It stops with the same message.
Already revoked authentication and rea authorized just in case withou any issues.
I do not know if this should be a sepparate support ticket than the original post. Do not want to take his post.
I am having a different sync issue with 4.1.27 that is fixed by downgrading to 4.1.25. If I create a new appointment in Outlook 2021 with a reminder of "None" (my default) and then sync, the resulting Google Calendar entry has a different reminder. I get a 0 reminder if I manually create the appointment, but strangely I get an 18 hour reminder if the appointment is created using a template. Again, this was fixed by installing 4.1.25.
N.B.: Having the same reminder issue with version 4.1.28.

did you try the new Checkbox "sync reminders"?
Yes, "sync reminders to other side" is checked along with "Outlook to Google Only". Created an appointment in Outlook from a template with reminder = None, synced and the Google entry shows reminder = 18 hours before.
Added another test appointment from scratch with reminder = None (my default), synced and the Google entry shows reminder = At time of event (i.e. 0).
I received both reminders from Google as I set the appt's for just a few minutes from creation.
Outlook 2021, GCSM v 4.1.28
+1 for me.
Some Outlook appointments (new or rescheduled) are simply not "seen" by GCSM (they're not even logged), so they're not being processed for syncing.
P.S. Downgrading to 4.1.25 fixed the issue

@Marco This closed bug report may help address your issue https://sourceforge.net/p/googlesyncmod/bugs/1334/.
@Alden: Thanks a lot, fixed the misconfiguration and 4.1.28 is working like a charm now :)
Same issue. New appts or changes in Outlook not synching over to Google. Also reverted to 4.1.25 and it synchs fine. I'm doing a manual synch, synch runs, events just aren't transferred over.

I am noticing again that the annotations that I make in the calendar on my Android smartphone / Google contacts account, do not appear in my outlook (Office 2019 64 bits). My version of GO ContactSync Mod - 4.1.28 does not throw any kind of error either.
I have found that one reason of NO SYNC on some appointment is the checkbox "Months (future) to be sync" (see pictures)
Old version of GCSM needs ZERO months to say "all future months"
New version needs uncheck the checkbox to say "all future months"
old version checkbox was this way:
I have followed the instructions that you say but it still does not synchronize the future data that I have in google calendar, so it does not appear in my outlook 2019 professional plus 64 bits
I'm having the same issue as Francois-02 reported with Go-Contact-Sync version 4.1.27, Outlook Proffessional Plus 2016 calander no longer syncs apointments with Google Calander, it was working fine in the previous version.
Fantastic App by the way.

Hello,
I am addressing the owner of the GO Contact Sync Mod application:
I have noticed since my post dated 2022-01-24 that there are a number of users who have synchronization problems with versions 4.1.27 and 4.1.28.
Could you tell us and show us in a picture what are the new parameters to enter correctly in version 4.1.28 so that my Outlook calendar and my appointments can synchronize in Google (to and from my address xxxxxxx@gmail.com that gives me allows me to have my calendar and appointments on my Android smartphone)?
I attached as an example the image of my parameters in version 4.1.28.
Tell me if this is correct?
Best regards
Francois-02
in your example from the screenshot, you synchronize only appointments 1 month in the past until one month in the future. If you want to synchronize all appointments in future, please uncheck the Months in Future checkbox, and if you want to sync 12 months in the past, enter this number there, keeping the checkbox checked (or uncheck it, if you want to sync all)
Hello at the owner of the GO Contact Sync Mod application,
Questions :
Should we check the "Months (Past)" field?
What value should be put in the "Months (Past)" field?
Should we check the "Months (Future)" field?
What value should be put in the "Months (Future)" field?
Should we check the "Sync Reminders to other side" field?
Could you explain to us how these new fields work?
Best regards
Francois-02
I hadn't noticed the Months (Future) field before, maybe it's a new field? Anyway, putting a value of 12 months into that field did result in future new Outlook Calendar syncing with Google. I do feel a bit silly not noticing this before! Thanks Francois-02 for pointing this out
Hi,
you can find more info about the setting's control if you mouse-over the control, it will display a tooltip.
But in a nutshell: there was a change in recent version. In the past, 0 months mean't no restriction to sync backward or forward in time. Now it is distinguished with a checkbox. if not checked, no restriction. If checked, restricting the number of months, and 0 means no past/future appointments (except for recurrence patterns).
see also https://sourceforge.net/p/googlesyncmod/bugs/1334/
Hope this clarifies it.

Hello Florian SALLER,
Thank you very much for your answers and advice.
Indeed your versions V4.1.27 and V4.1.28 have changed compared to the old version V4.1.25.
In your last version V4.1.28 you added the concept of "Month (past)", "Month (future)" and "Sync Reminders to other side".
The problem that many users like me had was that we didn't know the settings to be made for these 3 new fields.
In my personal case with version V4.1.25 it is that all my Outlook and all my Google account were correctly synchronized identically on each side (appointment, reminder, contact, etc....).
Thanks to your answers and thanks to your explanations that you gave me, I therefore configured version V4.1.28 correctly (see my screenshot attached) and there was a miracle: all my Outlook is identical to my Google account and all my Google account is identical to my Outlook.
Thank you very much because your software is really great, I've been using it almost every day since 2017.
Can I give you a little advice: could you put in your next version (v4.1.29) very well detailed explanations, in a very visible way for users, concerning the functioning of these new fields?
You can close this ticket if you wish.
With my best wishes.
FRANCOIS-02 (from France)
as you can see in the Version history (readme.md, please scroll down on following page https://sourceforge.net/projects/googlesyncmod/files/Releases/
there was a fundamental change between 4.1.25 and 4.1.27. In 4.1.25, if you set MonthsInFuture to 0, it meant, you sync ALL appointments in the future. Since 4.1.27 the value 0 means, none in the future (i.e. only the today's appointment or the recurrence patterns, but nothing in the future.
Please just set your MonthsInFuture correctly, if you want to still sync all in the future, you have to uncheck the checkbox or increase the number of months to a value bigger than 0, see attached my config (I sync all in the future, but only 3 months back in the past)
Version [4.1.27] - 22-01-2022

IMPROVEMENTS: Allow negative MonthsInFuture and also 0 MonthsInFuture or MonthsInPast to avoid resynching past reminders (see feature-requests #246 Should Past Events Still Trigger A Message)
