I have the same error again and again. worked once fully but since then it always stops with that error. Note that I have a large number of contacts to sync (about 3000) as I am in initial usage steps of the program so once it went to contact 1100... Most of the times it stops after 50 or 60.

I have the same problems. So I imagine that erasing all the contacts in Outlook , and I launch the synchronisation to rebuild the directory from the Google contacts. It did it with stopping at some quite hundred of errors (the type of email was set to "professional" instead of "travail") I correct these errors, and after 5 essays, it completed the directory in outlook.
So, the information about the date of creation of the contacts is lost.
And this morning, appears Warnings and same error about "quota exceeded" !

Same issue with quota metric here, even on V 4.1.12.
There are 2650 contacts
It processed about 10 contacts/sec for the whole set up to around the 2600th one, then it suddenly slowed down at 1 contacts every 5 seconds for another tenth of contacts, and finally it stopped at approx the 2630th.
Exact numbers vary by a few units from run to run.

Obelix implemented Exponential Backoff and switched to hourly sync (instead of minutely). This should fix this problem. Nevertheless, the App developers cannot influence the Google Quota strategy
