I followed the download page and brought down gnuplot-4.2.2.tar.gz
which was reported to be
Platform-Independent. I am using a system running 10.5.
I do have a system where the developer's tools are installed. These
tools include gcc.
In downloading the *.gz file, the Mac unzipped it. I moved the
gnuplot-4.2.2.tar file into the
/Applications folder.
In a terminal window, I moved to /Applications and untarred the
gnuplot*.tar file.
I moved into the gnuplot-.4.2.2 directory.
At the terminal prompt I typed
./configure
make
"make" did not work because of the following errors:
Undefined symbols:
"_rl_forced_update_display", referenced from:
_restore_prompt in command.o
"_rl_ding", referenced from:
_alert in mouse.o
"_history_list", referenced from:
_write_history_list in history.o
"_rl_complete_with_tilde_expansion", referenced from:

ld: symbol(s) not found

make[3]: *** [gnuplot] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
Is there a gnuplot that runs on Macs?
If so, how do I resolve the undefined symbols?
