[Gnuplot-info] autoextend feature

I am using Gnuplot 4.2 on Windows.  My understanding is that the y-axis 
should autoextend to the next major tic unless yfixmin and yfixmax are 
set.  When I try to eliminate exponential labels on the y-axis by defining 
the labels (see commented ytics statements), I lose autoextention of the 
yrange to the next whole number of tics.  I have tried defining the ymax 
and ymin range as a function (see commented yrange statement), but cannot 
figure out how to assign the ymax and ymin values.  The ymax and ymin 
values need to be set automatically from the data.

Any solution is appreciated.
