[Gnuplot-info] boxed graph question

Hi,
i want to create a boxed graph with categorical data and i found this
tutorial - i am refering to the 3d graph:

The problem is probably, because of the example .dat file - there is none.
Is it
"1 June value"? Is it "June 1 value", etc...

Anyway, i get boxes, that are attached to each other and i cannot get a
proper graph, as the one in the picture. Can anyone please give some
guidance?
