You're right. I think Octave and Maxima can take advantage in an=20
improved graphic system. Gnuplot has wonderful capabilities, so=20
polishing its backend seems really worthwhile.

I plan to send a message to the mailing-lists of Octave and Maxima to=20
ask for their needs and ideas.
