I doubt it. Certainly not everyone who *uses* LaTeX knows what those lines do. As it stands there is essentially no way I would be able to figure out how to use the epslatex terminal, even if it would be somewhat nicer than plain 'set term post eps'. I use LaTeX via a front end (LyX) that hides all this gobbledy-gook from me, and I have no interest in having to learn it just to include gnuplot figures. I think it would be *far* more appropriate to provide a working set of header files to be auto-included.
