I believe you'll probably have to struture your mesh yourself, like Hans said... Do you have a bunch of data you are fitting to a surface, or is it a function that you want to plot?... If it's a function, just make a small program that draws the mesh... You can even make a triangular mesh, it would be closer to your "problem language", and is even easier to do then a square mesh.
