I am using gnuplot on a OSX 10.4. (granted I usually place all my graphics in LaTex but unfortunately I need to do this one in WORD) I recognize that when I import the eps files to WORD there is no preview file in the eps gnuplot file and the figure will appear upon printing to a postscript printer. Again unfortunately, my fellow colleagues, first see this as a WORD error and after explaining it to them they want it fixed so they don't have to print out the document everytime. I have been trying to use the epstool utility app, but when I run a "epstool --test-eps *.eps *_out.eps" it indicates: PostScript appears well behaved. File claims to be EPS. FAIL: File does not comply with EPS specification. Failed I have tried to use several other options (such as gs), but the error seems to originate from the gnuplot term postscript. How does one make the export from gnuplot comply within EPS specifications? I thought once a file is eps it should be "univerisal" in some sense? Normally my term is set to: set term poscript eps enhanced, but I have also tried, set term postscript enhanced and convert the files (gs again) to eps, but I receive the same errors when I try to attach the preview file with epstool. I have read at the other forums, google groups, that OMniGraffle is another option, but it seems like epstool shoud be the quick route. Something seems to wrong from the eps output from gnuplot????
