[Gnuplot-info] histogram woes

I am trying to get a dataset plotted using histograms with errorbars.  My d=
ata=20
is in pairs and (currently) is in the form of two columns, the first a=20
experimental value and the second the stdev thus:

1.065	0.04
1.102	0.04


1.02		0.08
1.15		0.06

and so forth.

My desire is for each PAIR of rows be plotted side-by-side with touching=20
histogram boxes, a space, then the next pair plotted, etc.

I have tried changing the format of the file so all the first values of eac=
h=20
pair are in one column and the second in a column beneath the first with a=
=20
space.  Nothing is working so far.  I am using the index <n> command to=20
select the pair or dataset as appropriate and I've tried playing with gap=20
size.  In no case have I managed to get pairs of side-by-side histograms.

How do I do this?
