This is a known problem.  For some strange reason, Mandriva decided to 
distribute a binary package of gnuplot-4.0 that doesn't work in the 
default setting of their distribution.  There's nothing we, the gnuplot 
maintainers, can do about that.  It's Mandriva who have to fix this.
