That is a strange one.  I assume you have an image for which you select 
a range that is only a portion of the image.  This is supposed to work 
fine.  I will have a look this weekend.  (I'm just back from a few days 
of meetings.)  In the mean time, perhaps you could run the demo 
"image.dem" and cross-reference against the file:

If there are differences, please let me know or send a PDF file or 
compressed PostScript file.  (There are some examples in the demo which 
show only a subregion of an image.
