I have been using gnuplot-4.0 and gnuplot-4.1 to display gray-scale data with pm3d for over a year. My latest build of gnuplot-4.1 (CVS Sept. 19) refuses to display the colorbar/colorbox for the plot to the right of the data frame, although earlier gnuplot versions still display it correctly. I checked the online help, and added set colorbox to the script without success. This is on my Mac G5 under OS X 10.4.7 with AquaTerm-1.0.1. The idea is to display data curves where low amplitude data fades into white, and high amplitude data is black. Here is the script: set terminal aqua 1 fname "ArialMT" fsize 18 set palette gray negative set view map set mytics 10 set logscale y set yrange [10:100000] set colorbox vertical default set title 'Frequency Response vs. Time' set xlabel 'Time, s' set ylabel 'Frequency, Hz' set label 'Amplitude, g' at screen 0.97,0.45 rotate by 90 set nokey splot 'spectrum.txt' with points palette pt 3 ps 0.3 set terminal postscript set output "spectrum.eps" replot As I mentioned, I just now added the set colorbox line. The file spectrum.txt contains several lines of data that still display correctly within the plot frame, with the correct gray-scale values shown. How do I turn on the colorbar/colorbox for gray scale. My color pm3d tests seem to be working correctly with the colorbar correctly displayed. Thanks for any ideas. Joe |
