Imagine I want to fit a set of points to a math function. And I know points are well approximated by a*x^2 + b*x + c and also a*ln(x)*x + b*x + c . So I type them in gnuplot: stApprox(x) = a*x**2 + b*x + c fit stApprox(x) 'mydata.dat' via a,b,c ndApprox(x) = d*log(x)*x + e*x + f fit ndApprox(x) 'mydata.dat' via d,e,f Then now I want to know which of them (stApprox or ndApprox) approximates better the curve of my data. How can I get it? Anyone can help me, please? Thank you in advance. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/which-fit-approximation-is-better--tf2191826.html#a6065286 Sent from the Gnuplot - User forum at Nabble.com. |
