1) the name of the program is gnuplot.  Not GNUPLOT, GNUplot, GnuPlot or 
anything else, just "gnuplot".
2) Please update to version 4.0 before proceeding.

gnuplot 3.7 has no way of filling areas with any color.  4.0 does. 
Install it, then see "help boxes".
