[Gnuplot-info] linespoints with pointsize variable

I really need to be able to "turn off" points in my linespoints plots. I 
figured that I could do it with "pointsize variable", and then set those 
points to size zero in the data file. I even installed
gnuplot version 4.1 for this purpose. Unfortunately, it seems to work with 
"points" style,
but not with "linespoints". Is it a bug? Is there any way around?
