[Gnuplot-info] thanks and ?

3 days ago, I posted this, the problem arose on RedHat Linux 9.  Ii
solved the poblem by re-nstalling RH9 and clicking the additional
X-term option I tried twice to just install only the x-term option but
it would not allow me to do so, probably due to some packeages I
downloaded while trying to build it on my own. Thanks for all the
help.

 I am wonderng if there is a default directory that people generally
install programs in like java or firefox that don't have automatic
installs and if there is a reason for this??

I am tryng to install gnuplot 3.7.2 on my CPU and I am successful untl
I try to plot something. Then nothing appears? I thnk this is do to an
error I get; "Terminal type set to 'unknown'. I think this is due to
an improper installation of gnupot_x11?? When I do a make install
command in gnuplot-3.7.2, I geth the followng error; "test ! -f
gnuplot_x11 || /usr/bin/install -c gnuplot_x11
/usr/local/bin/gnuplot_x11".

I also cannot find gnupot_x11 if I run a locate command? "locate gnuplot_x11"?

I have tried to make gnuplot_x11 and I get the followng errors:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
