[Gnuplot-info] REQ: Help with formatting the print-output of gnuplot

Dear folks,

in gnuplot 3.7 patchleve 3 I have no idea to format the print 
output. I want to achieve something like in C like

print "Value: %.2f",VALUE

such that the double number VALUE is grinte on the screen with 
only two cifers at the right of the decimal point.

Any idea how to set that in gnuplot*
