[Gnuplot-info] fit 3d

Hello, 

I'm a PhD student in modeling mechanical behavior of
materials. For my work, i need to fit a surface on a 3d curve and i do
it with gnuplot which is awesome. But now i need to do it by myself, i
need to create in Fortran, an algorithm which do the same thing as
gnuplot and i would like to know if it is possible to have a look at the
code doing the fit procedure in gnuplot, and how to do that ?
