Hi Theo, probably, you can win building something like you did for "the last data points of each block" (instead of pipe reversed data to gnuplot), but the general answer is that gnuplot is not aimed as a data editor. There are general powerful scripting languages (python, perl, gawk, ...) or smart math-stat languages that can use gnuplot as a graphical frontend (Octave, R, maxima, ...).
