[Gnuplot-info] Arrow Heads Only, No shaft

Is there some way to create a arrow head without the shaft?

If so can it be rotated so it points to N, S, E, and W directions?

If not any work arounds?

There is some discussion of this in earlier versions, but I could not find
anything current.
