[Gnuplot-info] Gnuplot: xtics Display Format

Deaf Gnuplot Staff:

My problem is very elementary.

What I would like to do is display major x axis xtics with small values 
... 1, 2, 3 ...
I can configure xtics such that tic values displayed below the plot 
correspond to
the number of the plotted row--every 12000 rows. For example it displays 
36000 beneath
the plot at the right point.

I suspect there is a fairly easy way` to integrate an arithmetic 
expression such as x/12000
into the following directive:

set xtic 12000

Do you have any suggestions ?

Note that the input data I am using has only one column.  Here is a 
short snippet:

1.000366
0.999146
1.001587
0.999146
1.001587
1.003418

Once I have started gnuplot these are the commands I issue.

load volt.plt
plot "ex_a1.csv" using 0:1 with lines title "Ex. A1"


The  volts.plt file is as follows.

#
# X: 1 Second = 12000 samples
# Y: Voltage range 0 - 3.3 Volts
#
