I am uncomfortable with this line of argument,
because of its personal nature. This is obviously
not saying anything against Ethan - I think we
all know how crucial he has been to gnuplot
development over the last 10-15 years. 

(Thanks, Ethan! I really mean it - without you, 
gnuplot would be dead by now!)

But I'd prefer to keep the argument centered on
the technical merits of features, rather than on 
who conceived and implemented them.

With that in mind, I'd like engage Ethan (and
everyone else) in this discussion. Do we have
a good idea where we are going?
