You can change the *default* linetypes to be dashed or only solid, but you could in any case use `dashtype` to use dashed lines even if the terminal option is set to `solid`. Second, I would like to see a 'linetype variable' which, opposed to `lc var`, changes all line properties: linecolor, dashtype and pointtype.
