[Gnuplot-info] rotating tics

Hi,
I want to create xtics the same as figure 1 in this paper (http://parsa.epfl.ch/~volos/papers/ASPLOS12_Clearing_the_Clouds.pdf). In short, I want to rotate them by 45 and justify them to right.

set xtics rotate right rotate by 45

But the xtics go inside the chart (I want them to be outside). 

I played with different offsets, but could not reproduce as you see in the paper.
For example "offset -10,-1" moves xtics to some positions but by setting "offset -10,-2", I don't see any xtics! seems that they go outside of the chart area.
