[Gnuplot-info] xtics containing strings

Hi
I want to set some strings on the x-axis. Here is my data points

10
30
20

and I use

  set xtics "data point 1, data point 2, data point 3"
  plot "points.txt" with boxes fill pattern 3

 
But the plot area is empty! Did I miss anything?
