[Gnuplot-info] Filling outside of circles

Hi,

I would like to produce a plot that consists of a few circles, with the
outside of each circle hatched in a different way.  So the intersection of
all the circles has no hatching, and areas that are outside of more than one
circle have more than one hatch.

I've tried experimenting with 'filledcurves', but I can't even fill the area
outside of a single circle.

Is it possible to produce the kind of plot I would like in gnuplot?  Thanks
for any help.
