[Gnuplot-info] is there way to assume the box boundary fixed but let tics move?

Dear All,

I have spent a lot time fixing the size of the boxes in the multiplot
environment. The issue is basically that for fixed box sizes, the actual
size to display a graph changes with say ytics width and lmargin. Using the
default, the very left boxes would appear smaller than the right boxes to
be displayed. I am wondering whether there is a way to fix the actual size
for displaying the graphs, but shift the tics position (which I don't care)
in default.

An illustration of my issue is in the attachment, note the left boxes have
different sizes and alignment. I need to very carefully adjust lmargin to
bring the boundaries back to good alignment and of comparative sizes.
