[Gnuplot-info] Issues with display of plots from gnu octave 3.6.0 in gnuplot 4.4.4

Hi,

I have been having some issues with gnuplot 4.4.4. Initially I thought these
were due to GNU Octave (3.6.0), which I was using to generate the figures,
but when I print the figures to jpg using the (octave) command print, the
end result is OK. The problem seems to be with the display on the screen.
The issues I have been having can be summarised as:

* the legend display is wrong, which is more obvious when the legend is
boxed
* the ylabel or zlabel text is displayed horizontally instead of vertically
* the grid lines are displayed as solid lines instead of dashed lines

Is it something that the octave developers are doing wrong when passing the
information to gnuplot or is there a problem with gnuplot itself? I am using
win xp 64 bit if that makes any difference.
